Engineering firm takes over historic manufacturing company

Today it is a global supplier of heat transfer products, economizers and industrial boilers.

Colwich-based parent company PJD, which also owns Teesside engineering firm Piper Services, has taken a strategic step to provide a unique, one-stop solution for a range of sectors.

The acquisition represents an expansion for one of the largest independent groups in the UK energy and industrial markets, employing a team of over 250 professionals and with an annual turnover in excess of £40 million.

The combination of these businesses will enable the launch of a fully integrated solution covering the design and engineering of steam boilers and pressure parts, production, installation and subsequent repair and maintenance for various sectors.

PJD’s strengths lie in on-site installation, equipment repair and servicing, whilst Green’s is a pioneer in design, engineering and manufacturing, creating end-to-end solutions with multiple UK sites and a global manufacturing footprint.

David Hayle of Ropsley said: “We are delighted to announce this acquisition and are keen to begin integrating the businesses and offering seamless solutions to new and existing customers.

“Now that we have the economic challenges of recent years behind us, we are focused on continuing our exponential growth and look forward to supporting this iconic company in its next phase of development.”

Chris Wright, Green’s Power Operations Director, added: “Green’s has been in the industry since 1821 and has established itself as a world leader in the supply of boiler equipment and services.

“We look forward to the future and our collaboration with the Ropsley portfolio to continue to be a truly progressive solution developer across the group’s core sectors.”

PJD has over 35 years’ experience in the UK energy and industrial sectors.

Mechanical specialists provide a full range of repair, maintenance, upgrade and installation services, covering basic knowledge of working with pressurised components and projects ranging in value from £2,000 to £20 million.
