Microsoft announces discontinuation of Office applications and services

Microsoft Corp. said it is investigating the cause of disruptions in some Office applications and services.

The issue affects “many Microsoft 365 services and features,” the company said in a post on social media site X on Tuesday morning. Microsoft 365 includes popular productivity apps like Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Earlier this month, about 8 million Windows computers crashed after cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike Holdings Inc. released a flawed software update. Microsoft has also been grappling with the fallout from a series of cyberattacks that prompted a scathing report from the U.S. government calling for company-wide changes.
