Johnson Controls Announces Digital Enrollment Mobile App for Detection Devices

Johnson Controls introduces the Johnson Controls Digital Enrollment mobile app for automatic addressing of fire detection and alarm devices. By simply scanning and downloading data via a QR code located on each addressable device, the Digital Enrollment app provides an addressing solution that helps eliminate errors and is faster than traditional methods, without the need for special tools.

The app allows users to install and configure addressable fire detection devices such as point detectors, notification devices, manual call points and ancillary devices offered under Johnson Controls brands including FireClass and Zettler.

“Today’s busy, understaffed service and maintenance teams need modern, user-friendly tools to increase efficiency wherever possible,” said Martin Schulte-Frankenfeld, senior director of product management, fire detection, Johnson Controls. “The Digital Enrollment app gives teams a tool that makes installing and configuring a fire detection system faster, easier and more reliable than previous methods, right from their smartphones or tablets.”

The Digital Enrollment app offers users two workflow options to complete the installation of a new fire alarm system. The recommended option is to create a device list in the mobile app and sync it using the app dashboard configuration tool. Alternatively, installers can download the device list from the configuration tool and sync this list with serial numbers using the mobile app.

Each device’s QR code includes the serial number, SKU (part number), model number, and manufacturing date. They also provide access to product-specific data such as technology pubs, certifications, pricing, and ordering information. In addition to installing new systems, the Digital Enrollment app and QR code make it easy to reconcile the replacement of faulty or dirty devices.
