MUHS students will soon learn with 3D technology

Nashik: University of Maharashtra Health Sciences (MUHS) signed a memorandum of understanding with a private company on Wednesday to raise awareness of the potential 3D technology in health sciences.
MUHS Vice Chancellor (VC) Lt Gen Dr Madhuri Kanitkar (Retd), VC Milind Nikumbh, MUHS Registrar Rajendra Bangal and senior officials of the company were present during the signing of the MoU.
“There is a need for extensive use of technology to teststraining and skill development among health education students. The university is working on setting up labs with 3D printing solutions and 3D equipment,” said Dr. Kanitkar. The university’s ‘Disha’ and ‘Drishti’ cells will work on innovation and incubation through this agreement. According to the vice president of the university, the agreement aims to develop training modules and we conduct regular training with doctors.
“This agreement is important to encourage entrepreneurship by engaging 3D design experts, startups, doctors and entrepreneurs. The use of digital technology will facilitate faster solutions to health-related problems,” she added.
Nikumbh stressed the importance of promoting research and development and integrating 3D technology into health education. “The agreement is crucial for presenting innovative 3D-printed medical products in incubation,” he added.
Bangal said the agreement provides a platform for health education students and professionals to get training in 3D technology. Regular training workshops will be organized to encourage setting up 3D printing labs and 3D equipment.
