The third-generation Echo Show 8 features a new industrial design, an intuitive home screen with faster processing, Matter/Zigbee/Thread compatibility, and improved audio offerings – and it only costs AUD 249.

Amazon is today announcing that the latest generation of the beloved Echo Show 8 is coming to Australia, with pre-orders now available. Featuring edge-to-edge glass and soft curves across its eight-inch screen, the next-generation Echo Show 8 is better on the inside and out, and is perfectly designed for both immersive entertainment and practicality.

Perfect for the kitchen, living room, or home office, the new Echo Show 8 allows customers to control smart home devices through the built-in smart home hub, watch or listen to their favorite content, make video calls to friends and family, check compatible cameras, view and update shopping lists, customize the rotating photo display, and much more.

Perfect for entertainment, the enhanced audio offering provides improved clarity and bass, with room adaptive technology and spatial sound processing filling the room for optimum sound, while the HD display means video content is clear and vivid. Video calls are even better thanks to the centrally placed, auto-framing 13-megapixel camera, as well as an improved audio channel that minimises background noise from around the house.

Combining the usability of Alexa with the convenience of an eight-inch HD touchscreen, Echo Show 8 features a built-in smart home hub, allowing users to be more connected than ever and easily manage their smart home devices. A new industrial design and improved processor mean the improved Echo Show 8 will enable Alexa to process common smart home requests 40% faster, whether you’re turning a smart light, switch, or plug on or off.

The built-in smart home hub supports Matter, Zigbee, and Thread without the need for a separate hub, allowing you to easily pair and control compatible smart home devices. Manage compatible cameras, lights, and more with your display or voice, or activate routines with motion. It also supports Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The new Echo Show 8 features Adaptive Content, a reimagined home screen experience — which is also present on the Echo Hub — meaning you’ll see more useful and engaging content and information when you’re close to your device. Accessing frequently used content or widgets is also easier with shortcut icons that can be opened with a single tap. And if a customer is signed up for Visual ID, the screen will display a personalized view, highlighting things like their latest playlist or additional articles from their preferred news source for added convenience.

As always, Alexa and Echo Show devices are built with multiple layers of privacy protection. Customers have full transparency and control over their Alexa experience, from a manual microphone/camera mute button and built-in camera shutter to the ability to delete voice recordings.

Echo Show 8 was designed with sustainability in mind. The device’s packaging is made from 99% wood fiber-based materials sourced from responsibly managed forests or recycled sources.

The all-new Echo Show 8 is available to pre-order now in Glacier White and Charcoal for an RRP of AUD$249 on Amazon.com.au/EchoShow8, jbhifi.com.au and leading retailers, with shipping starting August 22.
