Tata Power to build 70 MW solar project for Tata Steel: Rediff Moneynews

Tata Power subsidiary TP Parivart will commission a 70-megawatt solar power plant for Tata Steel at Akola in Maharashtra, which will generate 154 million units of power per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

New Delhi, Aug 1 (PTI) Tata Power on Thursday said its subsidiary TP Parivart has signed an agreement to set up a 70-megawatt solar project for Tata Steel at Akola in Maharashtra.

TP Parivart Ltd has signed a power supply agreement with Tata Steel, one of the country’s leading steel companies, to set up its own 70 MW solar power plant at Akola in Maharashtra, the company said in a BSE filing.

As stated in the document, the project is expected to generate 154 million energy units (MU) per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 115,000 tonnes.

TP Parivart Ltd is a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) and TPREL is a subsidiary of Tata Power.
