IIM Udaipur opens cutting-edge behavioral science lab in Jaipur, boosting research and innovation in partnership with Rajasthan government

Udaipur (Rajasthan) (India), August 1: Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) is pleased to announce the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Behavioural Lab, set up in collaboration with the Government of Rajasthan under the auspices of the Department of Information Technology and Communication (IT&C). The lab was inaugurated on July 30, 2024 by Col. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Minister for Information Technology and Communication, Government of Rajasthan. The Behavioural Lab is located at the Rajasthan Centre of Advanced Technology (R-CAT), Jaipur.

Equipped with technologies such as electroencephalography (EEG), eye tracking, and galvanic skin response (GSR), the Behavioral Lab will facilitate complex behavioral experiments. This enables researchers to explore the complexities of human cognition, emotion, and behavior, providing essential insights for academic research, policy testing, and market applications.

Prof. Ashok Banerjee, Director, IIM Udaipur, highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “With the inauguration of the Behavioural Lab, we are advancing our understanding of human cognition and behavior. The Behavioral Science Lab is envisioned as a pioneering interdisciplinary research center, advancing the understanding of human behavior and decision-making using cutting-edge neurophysiological tools such as EEG, Eye Tracking, Galvanic Skin Response, and driving innovation in research, government policy, and market applications. The facility is expected to benefit various stakeholders such as faculty, researchers, and postgraduates in universities, government departments, and business professionals from various industries, especially SMEs and startups.
