PrizePicks Receives New Hampshire Gaming License

PrizePicks is ready to launch in its new state.

The fantasy sports company announced this morning that it has received a new gaming license in New Hampshire, making it PrizePick’s 35th operating market.

For now, PrizePicks will exclusively offer peer-to-peer Arena games for daily fantasy sports in the Granite State. A release date has not yet been announced.

New Northeast Market

The fantasy gaming operator has been granted a license to operate fantasy gaming and will initially only offer arena gaming in the state. Arena is a peer-to-peer game where players compete against each other for prizes.

Since its launch in January, Arena has been available in nine jurisdictions and has surpassed two million rosters created by over 100,000 players.

“We are excited to offer our skill-based fantasy sports offerings to sports fans across the Granite State,” said Adam PackerSenior Vice President, Legal and Compliance, PrizePicks. “We are grateful to the New Hampshire Lottery Commission for their thoughtful cooperation.”

A PrizePicks spokesperson said Saturday in the South that the company and its technical team are executing “launch schedules” to launch Arena games as soon as possible.

PrizePicks is the largest skill-based fantasy sports betting operator and the fastest-growing sports company in North America according to the 2023 Inc. 5000.

New games coming?

The fantasy sports gaming company recently filed for two new trademarks with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and one of them could be a new type of game for PrizePicks users.

The fantasy gaming company filed for the trademark “PrizePicks Squads” on May 31, 2024, and “PrizePicks Streaks” on June 25, 2024. The company also registered a similar trademark, “PrizePicks Streak,” on April 19, 2024.

Saturday Down South has reached out to PrizePicks for more information on the entries and their potential launch. No further details were provided, but a spokesperson described the entries as “innovative new game types.”

“We are constantly working on new, innovative types of games to keep sports fans entertained,” a company spokesman told SDS.

Looking at the trademark filings, it seems that “PrizePicks Streaks” will be a new kind of game for users. The filing is marked as such on the US Patent Office website:

“Downloadable computer software to facilitate the playing of and participating in fantasy sports, namely, software for conducting fantasy sports competitions; downloadable computer software to facilitate the playing of and participating in fantasy sports, namely, software for conducting fantasy sports competitions in which users compete for prizes by making the highest number of consecutive winning selections.”

Additionally, “PrizePicks Squads” appears to be more of a tool for fantasy game users to track their fantasy game participation, fantasy game results, and fantasy game performance data.

The trademark is identified as follows in the United States Patent and Trademark Office:

“Downloadable computer software to facilitate the playing of and participating in fantasy sports, namely, software for submitting online fantasy sports entries, tracking fantasy sports performance data, and calculating fantasy sports earnings; downloadable software in the nature of a mobile application to facilitate the playing of and participating in fantasy sports, namely, software for submitting online fantasy sports entries, tracking fantasy sports performance data, collecting funds from fantasy sports participants, and distributing fantasy sports earnings.”
