This is the weirdest laptop I’ve ever seen, or at least felt

There are a ton of top-of-the-line laptops to choose from, so every launch has to do something to catch your eye. This Asus laptop certainly went a different route, let’s just say. It’s the weirdest laptop I’ve ever seen, or apparently smelled. Not to mention the beautiful display or top-notch sound, Asus went and added an aroma diffuser to this laptop… for some reason.

The Adol Book 14 Air is a 14-inch laptop powered by AMD Ryzen 8945H processor. It offers an OLED screen with a resolution of 2880×1800 and a fast refresh rate of 240 Hz. This screen provides 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and maintains color accuracy at a high level, with an average Delta E value of less than 1.

Inside, it’s got 32GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The 75WH battery will give you up to 14 hours of local 1080p video playback – assuming you keep the brightness low and don’t use Wi-Fi.

But the real gem? The scented gadget comes in the form of a perfume dispenser embedded in the lid of a laptop. Courtesy of fashion designer Anna Sui, this dispenser houses a sheet of perfume. The magnetically attached CNC-cut lid lets you swap out scents. The sheets of perfume won’t last forever, but the pack includes three scents: Basil and Mandarin, Rose of Man’s Land, and Be a New Her—whatever that is.

When it comes to AI, the Adol Book 14 Air includes a built-in assistant. Its APU offers 39 TOPS for AI processing, with integrated Radeon 780M graphics, which is quite fast for a built-in GPU. However, it is worth noting that the AMD Hawk Point APU is slower than the others in terms of NPU performance. So if you are interested in AI, you will be better off with an AI laptop.

The bundle also includes Anna Sui’s Wishing Elf perfume (50ml), a chic cloud-shaped computer bag, a personalized mouse, and a sticker pack. The whole quirky bundle costs RMB 6,999 (around $975/£750) and is available at Asus.
