Elden Ring, Giant Trees, and the Soulsverse Theory: Are All FromSoftware Games Connected?

Lordran, Yharnam, the Lands Between… From the software fans have been exploring inhospitable worlds and facing countless dangers for over a decade. After the premiere Demon Souls The title that started the “soulslike” genre was released exclusively on PS3: Dark Souls (2011). If you are a fan of the game, you remember the beautiful image that the game prepared for anyone who came to Ash Lake through the Great Hollow. In any case, Ash Lake’s giant tree trunks, like huge pillars raised out of thin air, are present in other FromSoftware games. In the first Dark Souls, they can be seen even from the Tomb of the Giants, home of Nito, the Lord of the Dead, and of course, they can be seen in their full glory from the beach of said lake. But did you know that they can be found in both Bloody AND Elden’s Ring?

In Bloodborne they can be seen perfectly in the Hunter’s Dreamthis place is located in absolute nothingness, you can see them on the horizon. They emerge from the fog and point to the sky. In Elden Ring, a title that gives special importance to giant trees due to the importance of Erdtree in historical events, you can also find these trunks during the battle with the Elden Beastright after defeating Radagon. In this case, the stumps or pillars have a semi-transparent color, as if they were some kind of magical element.

As you can see, the presence of these trees in three games – and three worlds – without any clear connection has raised a lot of questions, but the truth is that there is no single official answer. Are Lordran, Yharnam, and the Lands Between connected? Are they part of the same place in a different time-space? Is this just a gesture on From Software’s part, or does the Soulsverse actually exist?
