RWE appoints new COO Kevin Kroll



RWE, a leading global renewable energy company, has appointed Kevin Kroll as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its U.S. renewable energy division, RWE Clean Energy, LLC, effective August 1. Under the leadership of Andrew Flanagan, CEO of RWE Clean Energy, Kroll will complement the company’s leadership team, which also includes Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Ingmar Ritzenhofen and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Christoph Hunfeld.


Kroll joins RWE Clean Energy from McKinsey & Company, where he was a partner and spent nearly a decade advising private and public sector clients on achieving their decarbonization and sustainability goals. Prior to joining McKinsey in 2017, Kroll spent 10 years in operational leadership roles, focusing on nuclear new construction in Asia and the US.

In his role as COO, Kevin will be responsible for the continued growth of the company and overseeing the engineering, construction and operations of RWE’s growing fleet of renewable generation assets in North America, which currently exceeds 130 operational projects. His specific responsibilities include project execution, performance management and engineering, asset management, and operations and maintenance.
