MotoGP has signed a new agreement with Invest UP, an agency of the Uttar Pradesh government that facilitates international investment in the state. The agreement confirms that the Indian Grand Prix will be on the calendar from 2025 to 2027 inclusive. The event will continue to be held at the Buddh International Circuit, which made its MotoGP debut in 2023.

With a population of over 1.4 billion people and over 200 million motorcycles on the road, India is a key global market for MotoGP, our manufacturers and the sport’s many partners. Two-wheeled transport accounts for almost 75% of the total number of vehicles used daily.

India also has a well-established MotoGP audience, with further opportunities to grow in the coming seasons. The inaugural Grand Prix in Buddh brought together over 100,000 fans to witness history as the world’s most exciting sport took place in the country for the first time.

This new agreement, signed directly between MotoGP racing rights owner Dorna Sports and the government of Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state, provides the perfect backdrop for the continued growth of the motorsports and motorcycle industry across the country.

Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary-Commissioner, Infrastructure and Industrial Development, Government of UP, emphasised the monumental significance of this agreement, “Bringing MotoGP to Uttar Pradesh not only elevates our state on the global sports stage but also catalyses significant economic growth in tourism, hospitality and related sectors. This event will attract visitors from across the world, shedding light on Uttar Pradesh’s craftsmanship in hosting world-class extravagant sports events.”

Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports, said: “We are delighted to announce this new agreement directly with the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The inaugural Indian Grand Prix was a key success and brought enormous value to both MotoGP and our host region of UP, so it is fantastic that we can continue to build on this together in the future.

“India is a key market for MotoGP, with a healthy, established racing audience, and we know we can grow that exponentially. Hundreds of millions of two-wheeled vehicles are used every day across the country, making it vital to our manufacturers and to the sport itself, thanks to MotoGP’s position as the pinnacle of two-wheeled racing.

“We are proud to be working directly with the Uttar Pradesh Government to bring MotoGP back to India, as well as UP and Buddh International Circuit, for another three seasons.”
