Episode 44 – Transervice Director discusses dairy logistics

Glenn Campbell

Glenn Campbell, Regional Director of Operations for Williamston, South Carolina-based Transervice Logistics, joins us on episode 44 of the Let’s Talk Dairy podcast to discuss dairy industry logistics.

Campbell started in the trucking industry as a driver before changing direction and moving into fleet maintenance 23 years ago.

Dean Foods was his first venture into the dairy industry, which was later purchased by Dairy Farmers of America.

Six years ago, Campbell and the Transervice team were awarded the contract to maintain the Tre Monijitas Dairy in Puerto Rico, also known as 3 Nuns Dairy.

He still oversees the operation.

In August 2023, Transervice received another dairy, owned by Dairy Farmers of America in LeMars, Iowa: Kemps Dairy. He oversees that operation.

Campbell has been involved with dairy fleets for over 12 years.

In this podcast, Campbell talks about the following:

  1. The biggest logistical challenges currently facing milk processors.
  2. How difficult it is to keep dairy products cool, which is of course important, especially at higher temperatures.
  3. How difficult it still is to select employees for logistics tasks.
  4. If there is a connection between dairy logistics and sustainability.
  5. New technologies available now or that may appear in the near future will enable improvements in the logistics process in the dairy sector.
