Fluence Energy Contract to Deploy 2.2 GWh of Energy Storage in the US

Energy storage company Fluence Energy has signed an agreement with renewable energy infrastructure fund Excelsior Capital to implement energy storage projects with a total capacity of 2.2 GWh using domestic battery systems.

Excelsior will deploy Fluence’s Gridstack Pro product line starting in 2025. Battery cells for the projects will be primarily manufactured in Tennessee, while battery modules will be manufactured by Fluence in Utah. The batteries are designed to meet and exceed industry standards for safety certifications and fire testing, Fluence said. These include UL9540, UL9540A and NFPA-855.

The company said Gridstack Pro, unveiled in October, is one of the first energy storage solutions expected to qualify for tax credits as a domestic product under the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act.
