Hotel Reservations Are Accepted for Wyoming Blockchain Stampede 2024 at UW

Those planning to attend the Wyoming Blockchain Stampede 2024, which will take place September 16–20 at the University of Wyoming, should make hotel reservations now.

“Growing Wyoming” is the theme of the seventh annual Stampede presented by the UW Center for Blockchain and Digital Innovation (CBDI). The Stampede brings together top experts in innovative technologies, economic development, startups, fintech, quantum computing, bitcoin mining, digital literacy, and digital asset regulation and law.

“This year’s Wyoming Blockchain Stampede features a packed week of events with distinguished speakers that are well-attended,” said Steve Lupien, Director of CBDI.

The Laramie Hampton Inn is offering a block of rooms for Stampede attendees on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, September 17–18. Reservations are due Friday, August 16. This week includes the Wyoming Legislature’s Blockchain, Financial Technology, and Digital Innovation Technology Committee meeting, the UW Business School Career Fair, the second Wyoming Computing Symposium entitled “Data Analytics and Advancing Computing for Drone Applications,” the Wyoming Stable Token Commission meeting, Cardano Day, and the Stampede eSports Meetup and Competition.

As part of the CBDI Bitcoin Mining Initiative, representatives from the bitcoin mining and energy sectors will come together for the “Bitcoin Mining and Energy Summit” during the march.

Guest speakers include Charles Hoskinson, CEO and founder of Input Output Global, one of the world’s leading blockchain infrastructure research and engineering firms; UW alumnus Caitlin Long, CEO and founder of Custodia Bank in Cheyenne, which specializes in digital asset custody and payment solutions for U.S. businesses; Gov. Mark Gordon; Secretary of State Chuck Gray; and Matt Fields, CEO of Cheyenne-based VMAccel, a global AI infrastructure and platform company.

Also attending the event will be Anthony Apollo, executive director of the Wyoming Stable Token Commission; UW President Ed Seidel; Gabrielle Allen, director of the UW School of Computing; Bradley Rettler, UW assistant professor of philosophy and new director of the UW Bitcoin Research Institute; Wyoming State Senator Chris Rothfuss, co-chair of the Select Committee on Blockchain, Financial Technology, and Digital Innovation Technology; and Julie Hill, dean of the UW College of Law.
