Inmate who ran global drug operation in Pennsylvania federal prison freed but remains in custody

A former District of Columbia drug lord who ran a major drug operation out of Lewisburg Federal Correctional Facility has been released from prison but remains under supervision.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons (BOP) confirmed Friday that Rayful Edmond III has been transferred to a detention center supervised by the Office of Community Reintegration in Nashville.

A spokesperson said that due to privacy and security reasons, the Office of Real Estate Operations would not provide details about the location, terms or reason for the move.
