Upcoming Google Contacts update will simplify the sync process

There are reportedly a few updates in the works for the Google Contacts app that will improve contact syncing. The folks at Android Authority found these changes in version 4.37.39 of the app. A teardown of the app revealed that Google Contacts syncing will be improved in the near future.

The new Google Contacts app will simplify contact syncing

According to the report, the upcoming Google Contacts app will simplify contact syncing. There will be a new section in the settings menu that will help you easily sync your contacts. The update will also bring changes to the contact cards, which will start displaying your synced Google account data. The source was able to enable both the upcoming features in the aforementioned version of the app.

A new contacts sync section will appear at the bottom of the settings

According to the source, a new contacts sync section will be displayed at the top of the settings. It will show the synced account with the number of synced contacts. The same will also show when the contacts were last synced. There will be a shortcut to access the sync settings. The synced account details will be displayed at the bottom of the contact details page. These details will be displayed in a new section called “Contact info from”.

You will be able to see whether it is from a linked email ID or if it is saved on your device. Basically, the update will help you manage your contacts, apart from identifying their origin. You will also have a new button called ‘Report Illegal Profile Contact’. You can use it to report a contact who violates Google’s policies.

Upcoming features will improve contact management. There is no word yet on when Google will roll out these features. Also, sometimes some features are just for experimental purposes, so only time will tell.
