Clare Electrical Goods says e-commerce has become essential for retailers

A popular electrical store in Clare says e-commerce has become essential for almost all retailers.

New figures from the Central Office for Statistics show that between June last year and this year, electrical retailers saw a bigger increase in sales than any other type of retail, rising almost 13%.

The figures also show that 19% of electrical goods turnover came from online sales in June.

Eric Flynn, electrical manager in Ennis and former vice president of retail at Expert Ireland, says retailers today have no choice but to turn to online sales.
