NCRTC triumphs with Platinum Global Sustainability Award for RRTS project

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has received the prestigious 14th Platinum Global Sustainability Award-2024 for the RRTS project. The award, given by the Energy and Environment Foundation (EEF), was part of the 15th World Renewable Energy Technology Congress held in New Delhi on Friday. The event focused on renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable solutions for a green economy.

In a statement, NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel said the award signifies their commitment to positively impacting the environment through their unique RRTS project. Namo Bharat trains, a key part of RRTS, are streamlining regional commutes in NCR with eco-friendly and efficient operations.

NCRTC has adopted extensive renewable energy practices, including significant deployment of solar energy, aiming for IGBC certification for the entire RRTS infrastructure. Rainwater harvesting initiatives are also a key part of their sustainable strategy to supplement water resources through 900 storage tanks along the RRTS corridor.
