Luke Littler takes steps to boost huge net worth as darts star eyes big payday | Other | Sport

Luke Littler is reportedly planning to launch his own line of beers, even though he is still too young to legally drink alcohol.

The 17-year-old has become an icon in darts since making his World Championship debut late last year.

Now Littler is poised to capitalise on its growing position and launch a range of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and energy drinks.

According to The Sun, Littler is understood to have filed an application with the Intellectual Property Office to trademark his surname for his line of drinks.

The report also said a separate application had been submitted that covered cakes, jams and cereal bars.

If the Runcorn-born ace goes through with his plans to enter the food and drink market, it could see him reap huge rewards.

Of course, this would be in addition to his considerable winnings on the pitch, with Littler having raked in more than £500,000 from darts tournaments since the start of the year.

His huge earnings have seen him featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 Europe list for 2024. The darts star is expected to rake in more than £1million in prize money this year.

Littler, who spoke about how he dealt with the pressure of gaining a recognizable brand at such a young age, gained immense popularity.

In March, the teenager told the JaackMaate podcast: “When I’m not (at an event), I don’t mind taking a few (photos), but when it gets too much, I just want to go home.

“I went to a rugby league match for one of the lads who has been at the club for 10 years. It was total chaos. It wasn’t even a full stadium.

“But I have to go out and live my life. I don’t mind taking a few (photos), but this is too much. I can’t even go out without someone noticing me. As soon as I walk in the door.”

Littler-mania has certainly died down a bit in recent months, with its namesake Luke Humphries proving himself to be the best footballer in the world after the two last met in the Premier League.

Littler was eliminated from the World Matchplay in the first round, losing to eventual runner-up Michael van Gerwen.

For now, the next big event on Littler’s calendar will be the World Series Of Darts Finals in September, with the world number 23 currently just outside the qualifying places.
