Engg College Hosts Graduation Day

Mysore: Vice-Rector With Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), S Vidyashankar, on Saturday said Athmanirbhar Bharat Programme introduced by the Union government not only facilitate interactions in the industry but also give strength engineers contribute to economic growth through start-ups.
He spoke in ‘Graduation Day“for the BE graduates of the year 2020-24 organized by Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, held at the college’s city campus. Stating that engineers play a crucial role in driving the economic development of the country, the VC urged the graduates to leverage the potential of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence (AI), to create new opportunities without fear of losing jobs.
“India is now filing patents at par with developed countries like the US and China,” he said, highlighting the Vikasitha Bharat programme, its impact on graduate employment, collaboration with industry, including collaborative arrangements to support startups in the telecom sector. Vidyashankar also encouraged graduates to explore unconventional ideas, remain steadfast in their pursuits and be confident.
As many as 812 candidates were awarded engineering degrees and 58 degree holders were felicitated. Vidyavardhaka Sangha President Gundappa Gowda, Vice President B Shivalingappa, Secretary P Vishwanath, Principal BB Sadashive Gowda, Controller of Examinations Dr Sudev LJ were present. TNN
