Thousands of Avocado Green mattresses recalled due to fire hazard

(CNN) – Before you go to bed tonight, check your mattress.

Avocado Green Mattress is recalling more than 55,000 cotton mattress pads due to a fire hazard.

The recall affects all sizes, from twin beds to California King beds, sold in both standard and deep pocket sizes.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recalled mattress protectors violate mandatory federal flammability regulations for mattress protectors and pose a fire hazard.

They were sold in Avocado Green Mattress online stores nationwide from January 2019 to March this year.

No injuries were reported.

However, consumers have been instructed that they should stop using them immediately and contact the company for a free mattress pad replacement.
