Chai pe Charcha with BrandWagon – Brand Wagon News

Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everyone needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favorite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Priti Gupta, co-founder, CEO, Meneki Absolute, talks to BrandWagon Online about her weekends, favorite vacation destination and more.

What is the one thing you like to do when not working?

My day begins at 5 am with outdoor cycling, which can range from 1 to 5 hours, depending on my training schedule. I am fortunate to live in Pune, where I have access to scenic and challenging routes both within and on the outskirts of the city. I find great satisfaction in tackling extreme inclines, and over the years, cycling has evolved from being merely exercise to becoming my meditation zone.

If given the option to choose another career, I would have pursued playing cricket for India.

For short vacations, we love driving down to the nearby coffee estates from Bangalore and being in green, natural surroundings.

When work permits, I enjoy solo travels. I have a great fondness for reading books, especially fiction and poetry. I believe in the importance of continuously learning new skills, and I am currently passionate about painting, focusing on acrylic on large canvases. Despite my various interests, I dedicate the majority of my time to my family.

How do you spend your weekends?

My Sunday begins at 4 am with a long endurance ride of 80-100 kilometers alongside my cycling buddies. This early morning journey through various routes invigorates me, providing a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie. After the ride, I indulge in a relaxed brunch with my family, savoring the flavors and enjoying the company. I view Sunday as essential for resetting both my mental and physical well-being, preparing me for the upcoming week’s challenges. In contrast to the speed and intensity of my cycling, I prefer to spend the rest of the day in a slow and relaxed manner with my family, pampering my mind, body, and soul. Our weekend activities include playing and watching sports, enjoying movies, or venturing out to explore the city in search of new eating joints. These leisurely pursuits ensure that I am refreshed and ready to face the week ahead.

What are your favorite gadgets?

My Garmin smart watch is my current favorite gadget due to the incredible amount of health and fitness data it provides. From tracking my heart rate and sleep patterns to monitoring my cycling performance, it offers comprehensive insights that help me optimize my workouts and overall health. Another favorite is my Kindle, which has revolutionized my reading habits by making it much more convenient to carry and access a vast library of books. Whether I’m at home or on the go, I always have a good read at my fingertips.

While smartphones and laptops are necessities that I can’t do without, my super favorites are my TREK Emonda road bike and GIANT XTC SLR Mountain Bike. These bikes are more than just modes of transportation; they are essential gadgets that enhance my active lifestyle. Both bikes are integral to my fitness routine and bring immense joy and satisfaction to my cycling endeavors.

Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?

After successfully transitioning from a full-time finance professional to co-founding Meneki, a nutrition and wellness venture, I feel that I am already living my dream. The journey from finance to wellness has been incredibly fulfilling and has allowed me to combine my professional skills with my passion for health and well-being. However, I believe that dreams are meant to evolve and grow with us.

If given the opportunity now, I would like to take my passion for wellness a step further by setting up a experiential wellness cafe. This cafe would not just serve nutritious and delicious food, but it would also feature a florist and a bookshop as integral parts of the space. The idea is to create a holistic environment where people can nourish their bodies with healthy food, uplift their spirits with the beauty of fresh flowers, and enrich their minds with a selection of books. This would be a place where people can come to relax, rejuvenate, and find inspiration in a serene and welcoming atmosphere.

Which is your favorite vacation spot?

Bhutan is my favorite vacation destination for many reasons. Firstly, its stunning natural beauty is unparalleled, with scenic valleys and majestic mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop to any visit. What amazes me is the country’s commitment to preserving its environment and promoting sustainable tourism.

Additionally, Bhutan’s unique culture and traditions are fascinating. Visiting places like the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that combines spiritual significance with natural wonder. Another reason I love Bhutan is its emphasis on happiness and well-being. The country’s philosophy of Gross National Happiness prioritizes the well-being of its citizens over economic growth, creating a peaceful and satisfied society.

A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching

I am not at all a TV show/web-series person. I would rather like to share a book which I highly recommend reading. It’s Elif Shafax “Forty Rules of Love”. The book’s exploration of love in its many forms is both profound and moving.

A movie that inspires me is Cast Away. It’s portrayal of human resilience and survival is incredibly inspiring. The film also delves into themes of isolation and self-discovery.

I really like all the Nike’s “Just Do It” campaigns. They resonate with me for several powerful reasons. The slogan itself is incredibly motivating and empowering. It encapsulates a simple yet profound message that encourages action, determination, and perseverance. It serves as a constant reminder to me to push past doubts, fears, and excuses, inspiring me to take charge and pursue my goals with more confidence and determination.
