ATLF 2024 will pave a new path for intra-Africa travel, tourism and investment

Once again, the Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) 2024 aims to bring together industry representatives to chart a new course.

From 3 to 6 September 2024, the Gaborone International Convention Centre, Grand Palm, in Gaborone, Botswana will host industry experts for this year’s edition of the annual forum, themed “Charting a New Path for Travel, Tourism and Investment in Africa.”

According to Africa Tourism Partners (ATP), the forum organizers, the forum theme reflects the forum’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and cooperation in the travel, tourism and investment sectors in Africa.

ATLF is the leading pan-African dialogue platform that brings together influential stakeholders from the travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation sectors. The forum provides a unique opportunity for industry leaders to network, share insights and develop strategies to boost intra-African travel and tourism, thereby increasing the value of the Destination Africa brand.

The 2024 edition of the ATLF will focus on three thematic areas: Sustainable and Inclusive Tourism, Supporting Intra-Africa Travel and Driving Economic Growth. These themes aim to ensure that tourism development benefits all stakeholders, especially local communities, and contributes to the economic integration and growth of the continent.

The ATLF Awards, the highlight of the forum, will recognise and celebrate innovation, excellence and transformational initiatives initiated by Africans, for Africans, in Africa. Participants will have access to investment opportunities, innovation showcases and educational sessions led by industry experts.

Speaking at the upcoming forum, Kwakye Donkor, CEO of ATP, said: “The future of African tourism lies in our ability to chart a new path forward, one that prioritizes sustainability, inclusiveness and collaboration. ATLF 2024 aims to be a transformational dialogue that will shape the future of African travel, tourism and investment.”

Building on the success of ATLF 2023, which attracted over 500 attendees, including thought leaders, media, travel and tourism industry practitioners, hoteliers, policy makers and renowned experts, ATLF 2024 promises to be an even more impactful event.

The forum will feature substantive discussions, networking opportunities and practical sessions on topics such as: sustainable and inclusive tourism, developing intra-Africa travel, driving economic growth, investment opportunities in tourism and hospitality, as well as educational sessions led by industry experts.
