The government has committed to comprehensive development of the village: Seethakka

Warangal: The state government is committed to comprehensive development of villages across the state. To accelerate development in the agency areas of Mulugu district, the government plans to collaborate with various voluntary organisations, according to Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya Seethakka.

On Sunday, Seethakka, along with District Collector Diwakar, inaugurated a new water tank, communal toilets, a shed and street lights in Nandi Pahad Koya village in Venkatapur district, with the support of voluntary organisations Nirman and Adama.

Seethakka noted a recent plea by a young girl from Takkellapadu village for a school. Following her intervention, the Collector and SP quickly built and inaugurated a new school within 15 days.

She stressed the need to conduct information campaigns among residents of remote areas covered by the agency’s operations on the use of toilets and access to clean drinking water in order to prevent seasonal and infectious diseases.

Seethakka also noted the support from various voluntary organisations during the Covid-19 pandemic, which have been helping tribal and Adivasi communities in the areas under the agency.

The state government is giving priority to village development and is working towards converting all villages into model gram panchayats, with a separate action plan underway. Successful implementation will depend on the joint efforts of villagers and voluntary organisations, she added.
