Following the appeal of Maria Corina Machado, peaceful demonstrations took place in Maturín, eastern Venezuela

People responded to the call of the leader of the democratic opposition, María Corina Machado, who asked to go out this Saturday throughout the country and stay in the streets.

One of the opposition’s concentration points was the entrance to the “Las Cayenas” neighborhood on Bella Vista Avenue, where citizens, armed with whistles and pots, demanded that the CNE show the signed official voting records, after they had not been published for six days.

At the La Floresta roundabout, another group of people did the same, using Venezuelan flags and other symbols to express their opposition to the results announced by the electoral body.

The “La Periquera” square in the parish of San Simón also became the place where opposition protesters gathered for several hours.

Meanwhile, in the Boquerón district, another group of people gathered to the sound of whistles and vuvuzelas to demand freedom and the publication of all official voting results to the governing body (CNE) and their comparison with those presented by the Unitary Platform.
