State Skills University signs memorandum of understanding to fund 50 startups

Pune: Maharashtra State Skills University introduced a special initiative for aspiring entrepreneurs and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government to implement the Maharashtra Academy of Scientific Research and Training (AMRIT).
Under this scheme, 50 selected entrepreneurs will be given financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh each, a statement issued by Skill University said. As per the MoU, Skill University will select 50 new entrepreneurs from the state every year. All details about this scheme and applications can be found on the website: https://mssuispark.in.
“Often, lack of funds is a major hurdle in starting a new business. Through this programme, we aim to overcome this hurdle. These 50 businesses will be given Rs 25,000 per month for a year, which will help them in the initial phase of starting their business,” said Skills University Vice-Chancellor Apoorva Palkar.
The state government has also launched the Chief Minister’s Youth Work Training Scheme. Aspiring entrepreneurs in the state can take advantage of these initiatives, Palkar added. “In this year’s budget, the Union government has introduced various policies and schemes for young entrepreneurs, which will be promoted in Maharashtra,” the VC said.
