PSC chief praises all supporters of PH’s success in Paris

Manila, Philippines – Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Dickie Bachmann on Sunday praised the collective efforts of various individuals and sectors for the success of gymnast Carlos Yulo at the Paris Olympics.

Yulo further solidified his position as arguably the greatest Filipino Olympian by winning his second gold medal on Sunday – a day after winning his first at Bercy Arena.

Yulo’s rare double gold, Bachmann said, wouldn’t have been possible without the help of Team Yulo — coach Aldrin Castaneda, his therapist and even the tireless president of gymnastics, Cynthia Carreon. “This was destiny shaped by everyone’s efforts,” Bachmann said. “With everyone’s support, the nation is celebrating the milestones we’ve achieved. In just two days, Carlos Yulo brought home two gold medals, but we won’t stop there.” Boxers Nestha Petecio and Aira Villegas are already assured of bronze, advancing to the semifinals of their events, while EJ Obiena is competing in the pole vault final as this paper goes to press.

“We appreciate everyone’s commitment to restoring the country’s glory. I am sure that all Filipinos are celebrating this exceptional achievement like never before,” Bachmann added. TMT
