Progress introduces the latest solutions in work coordination with Chef Courier – Intelligent CIO North America

Progress has launched Progress Chef Courier, an innovative product designed to streamline, automate, and optimize task coordination across an enterprise’s entire software infrastructure.

Delivered on the new Progress Chef 360 cloud platform, Chef Courier complements the extensive portfolio of Progress Infrastructure Management solutions.

“Accelerating the delivery of mission-critical applications while meeting security and compliance requirements is a must for every business. With today’s release, we are empowering our customers to do that and more,” said Sundar Subramanian, executive vice president and general manager of infrastructure management at Progress.

“Chef Courier helps seamlessly connect people, tools and workflows to streamline critical IT processes. Along with Chef 360, Chef Courier is the next step in our increased investment in the current Chef portfolio, enhancing our already robust capabilities across infrastructure, security, compliance, application delivery and edge management.”

John Yang, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Progress, said: “With its robust orchestration, Chef Courier is ready to meet the demand for workflow management in complex environments. To ensure business continuity at a fast pace, the new offering is designed to improve operational efficiency in a timely and secure manner.”

Chef Courier brings advances in performance, speed, and trust, increasing the overall value of DevSecOps. It is presented as a bridge between App Dev and Security, while maintaining the agility needed in complex, heterogeneous software infrastructure environments.

Chef Courier’s vendor-agnostic approach allows you to invest in multiple technologies and eliminates iterative and error-prone manual approaches to change management.

Ongoing support for the open-source community and transparent licensing terms provide an alternative to the constant changes introduced by competing offerings.

Additionally, the availability of SaaS and Marketplace solutions minimizes the need to manage tasks such as regular updates and incident response and resolution within the Chef environment.

According to Gartner, the infrastructure automation and orchestration market is growing as demands on infrastructure delivery teams increase to support rapidly changing business and technology landscapes.

Gartner believes that with the adoption of infrastructure platform (IIP) engineering to ensure the delivery of high-quality, flexible, and optimized infrastructure, the IA&O market will become more important.
