Red carpet rolled out for renewable energy investments in AP

Vijayawada: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar emphasised that there is ample scope for entrepreneurs to invest in Andhra Pradesh, stating that no other state in the country comes close to AP in terms of geography.

During a virtual meeting with non-resident Indians in the US, the minister urged them to invest in AP. He also encouraged investors to confidently set up industries in the state, highlighting the current politically stable government.

The minister assured that the Telugu Desam government, led by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, is fully prepared to provide necessary facilities to investors.

He noted that the policies of the previous government had discouraged industrialists from entering the state, leading to cancellation of investment agreements and a decline in new investments.

He added that the coalition government is determined to rebuild investor confidence and will soon introduce the best industrial policy for the next five years.

The Energy Minister also mentioned that the Australian Government is pleased to have investors interested in investing in the energy sector, particularly in solar and wind energy.

He pointed out that the previous government had ignored suggestions and appeals from associations like the National Solar Energy Foundation, Indian Wind Power Association and ASSOCHAM.

He added that the coalition government is, however, open to discussions and will gladly take into account the suggestions of these associations.

Ravi Kumar reiterated the government’s objective to attract investments and create employment for local youth. He also reiterated the commitment to create 20 lakh jobs, as promised during the election campaign.
