Ifac continues expansion with acquisition of Dublin firm MCC

Consultancy Ifac has acquired Dublin-based MCC Accountants for an undisclosed sum.

MCC provides compliance, business advisory and corporate financing services to small and medium-sized enterprises, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical and retail sectors.

Ifac specialises in the agriculture, food and agribusiness sectors and said the deal will expand its services to include corporate recovery, forensic accounting and corporate finance. The company will now operate under the Ifac name, effective immediately.

The move adds to the growing level of consolidation in the accounting and insurance sectors seen in Ireland in recent years. The acquisition brings Ifac’s presence in Ireland to 30 offices and a team of 500 professionals.

Ifac CEO John Donoghue said the acquisition is part of the company’s growth strategy to deepen its expertise and services.

“The addition of MCC Accountants’ corporate finance expertise and specific expertise in the pharmaceutical and retail sectors adds enormous value to Ifac and our growing SME business offering, as well as to our clients who will benefit from our combined expertise, foresight and ability to identify growth opportunities for their businesses,” he said.

Yvonne McCormack, Director of MCC Accountants & Financial Advisors Ltd, said: “Our entire team is looking forward to working with John and our new colleagues to deliver a unique business proposition to SMEs across Ireland to help them anticipate challenges and maximise growth opportunities.”
