Indian fans were left disappointed on Day 10 as Lakshya Sen failed to add to India’s medal tally at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The badminton ace lost 21-13, 16-21, 11-21 in the men’s singles bronze medal match in badminton. After the match, Lakshya said, “I started the match really well but I couldn’t hold on to the lead and then when he started playing well, it was difficult for me to find answers in the rallies. Overall, I’m a bit disappointed with the results.”

Meanwhile, in table tennis on Monday, India beat Romania 3-2 in the women’s team round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals. In track and field, Kiran Pahal finished seventh in the women’s 400m round 1, heat 3 to advance to the repechage round. Avinash Sable finished fifth in the men’s 3000m steeplechase round 1, heat 2 to advance to the final.

There was also plenty of shooting on Monday as Maheshwari Singh, Anant Jeet Singh finished fourth in the mixed team skeet qualifiers to advance to the bronze medal match. They then lost 43-44 to China’s Yiting Jiang in the bronze medal match. In wrestling, Nisha Dahiya defeated Ukraine’s Tetiana Sova Rizhko to advance to the women’s 68kg quarterfinals. But she lost to North Korea’s Pak Sol Gum in the quarterfinals.
