USA and India: Partners in Energy Transformation for a Green Future

The United States has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting India in its ambitious energy transformation journey. According to a US official, there are significant opportunities for cooperation between stakeholders in both countries, especially in the renewable energy sector.

Jonathan Heimer, Minister-Counsellor for Commerce at the US Foreign Commercial Service, highlighted the strong India-US ties and highlighted America’s role in helping India achieve its ambitious energy goals. Addressing the 2nd Energy Summit of the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce (IACC), Heimer highlighted the solid India-US cooperation and India’s growing clean energy initiatives.

He noted that India aims to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030, making it a global leader in clean energy. Carrie Antal, deputy director of the Indo-Pacific office at USAID, echoed that sentiment, pointing out that many countries are turning to India for innovative ideas and support as they work toward their own sustainable development goals.
