Sheikh Mohammed welcomes a dignitary at the weekly Majlis in Dubai on Tuesday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, met with a number of local dignitaries, business leaders, investors, ministers and senior officials at his weekly Majlis on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed said that under the leadership of the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE aims to develop in various sectors and strengthen its role as a key partner in creating a better future for humanity.

“The UAE also aims to strengthen global partnerships to address challenges and drive progress in the areas of sustainable development, innovation and advanced infrastructure,” he added.

“Guided by the clear vision of the leadership, the country’s development path has yielded significant achievements in key sectors,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

He emphasised the role of the private sector as a key partner in driving economic development, in line with the UAE’s strategy to diversify income sources, increase investment opportunities and create new business opportunities, particularly in future-oriented sectors.

Sheikh Mohammed said Dubai continued to strengthen its position as a key global trade centre, a hub for the creative and digital economy and an important base for international businesses.

“Dubai aims to become a leading destination for travel, business and investment,” said Sheikh Mohammed.

“By consistently delivering the necessary resources, Dubai aims to maintain its leading position both globally and regionally in key sectors,” he noted.

The initiative supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to make Dubai one of the three largest city economies in the world and enhance its economic and trade competitiveness.

Sheikh Mohammed further said: “Dubai’s exceptional achievements across the board underscore the strength of its partnerships, the strong synergy between the public and private sectors, and the solid relationships it has developed with strategic partners around the world. Innovation and advanced technology are key drivers for Dubai’s successful and bright future.

“We are committed to providing an ideal environment for startups operating in the field of innovation and advanced technologies, supported by modern laws and regulations aimed at facilitating the ease of doing business, simplifying procedures and strengthening Dubai’s position as a global innovation hub.”

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airlines and Group; Sheikh Hasher Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Media Incorporated, as well as a number of Sheikhs, Ministers and senior officials.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed and the participants listened to a lecture by Mohammed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the United Arab Emirates Cybersecurity Council.

The lecture discussed the importance of cybersecurity in securing the UAE’s digital transformation, protecting its achievements and maintaining national security.
