Mixing surround sound with Audeze Maxwell and Embody just got easier

Today at the All About Music conference in India, premium headphone maker Audeze and audio software company Embody announced a partnership that lets professional creators seamlessly mix surround audio tracks. Engineers only need Audeze’s Maxwell headset ($329) and a computer running Embody’s Immerse Virtual Studio PRO software (price to be determined) to create a virtual surround sound production experience.

Immerse Virtual Studio PRO breaks the barriers of cost and accessibility to virtual production, allowing any engineer to refine their mix in Rahman and Alan Meyerson’s legendary Atmos AR studios. Real-time binarization leverages Maxwell’s legendary 90MM planar magnetic transducers and head tracking, leveraging the hardware already in every Audeze Maxwell, and delivers the most realistic virtualization experience yet.

This partnership with Embody underscores Audeze’s commitment to expanding Maxwell support across a variety of apps, making them the best headphones for creating surround sound. This announcement also builds on a recent update that enabled head tracking for Maxwell users in the Dolby Atmos Renderer.

“This is another step in our long-term partnership and relationship with Embody,” he said. Audeze CEO Sankar Thiagasamudram“We’re looking to create more turnkey surround sound solutions that take advantage of Maxwell’s built-in hardware,” he added.

There are two versions of the Audeze Maxwell, which work with either the Xbox Series X (left) or the Sony PlayStation 5 (right). Both models work with the Embody.

“Imagine checking your mix in a top-quality reference studio,” said the legendary Indian musician and composer A. R. Rahman“Now you can do just that with Embody’s ARR Immerse Pro plug-in. Using AI, Immerse Pro delivers the iconic sound of AM studios so you can mix and test Dolby Atmos content with confidence on your headphones,” he added.

Immerse Virtual Studio PRO allows users to reference all audio formats including stereo, surround, Apple Music or Atmos with a single click. Using customized HRTF technology, it delivers accurate height, depth of field and crosstalk, reproducing the legendary AR studios of Rahman and Alan Meyerson with fully accurate acoustic and signal chain virtualization. With integrated head tracking for Audeze Maxwell and Apple AirPods, Immerse Virtual Studio PRO is a one-stop solution for all your immersive and Atmos mixing needs.

“I’m thrilled to continue our partnership with Audeze to announce the Immerse Virtual Studio PRO and Maxwell,” said Kapil Jain, CEO of Embody. “This product offers anyone the ability to easily mix Atmos content at a fraction of the cost.”
