Beacon Acquires Distributors in New Jersey and Vancouver

Roofing, waterproofing and related exterior products distributor Beacon announced a pair of acquisitions Aug. 2: SSR Roof Supply and Passaic Metal and Building Supplies (PAMPCO). Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Since the beginning of 2024, Beacon has acquired nine entities.

SSR roof delivery

Canadian roofing materials and accessories supplier SSR has been serving Vancouver contractors for over 30 years. It operates two locations in Burnaby and Surrey, British Columbia.

“We are proud of our history as a family-owned company dedicated to meeting the needs of our customers with high-quality products and direct service,” SSR, Sunil and Surinder Bath, Raj said in an Aug. 2 press release. “Joining forces with Beacon will provide our customers with a more extensive catalog of products, as well as services that will help contractors run their businesses more efficiently.”

SSR expands Beacon’s Canadian presence as it now has three locations in British Columbia. The company noted that it can now reach almost 80% of the British Columbia population to supply materials for new construction, repairs and remodeling.

Passaic Metal and Building Supplies Co.

PAMPCO, headquartered in Clifton, NJ, is a distributor of interior and exterior building materials with five locations in New Jersey and one in upstate New York. Its roots date back to 1911.

“Four generations of the Gurtman family have dedicated themselves to serving residential and commercial contractors,” PAMPCO CEO Frank Gurtman said in an Aug. 2 news release. “While we have been independent for over 100 years, we believe that joining forces with the Beacon team will best serve our dedicated employees and long-time customers. Our customers trust us to deliver the highest quality service, and our partnership with Beacon will further enhance the customer experience.”

Beacon — ranked No. 5 on MDM’s list of largest building/construction materials distributors — expanded its business in 2024 with nine acquisitions to date, including SSR and PAMPCO.
