Super Micro CEO says Nvidia Blackwell delay won’t have major impact

Following reports that Nvidia may delay the launch of its new Blackwell chip, Super Micro CEO Charles Liang said the move would not significantly impact his company.

There is a “normal possibility” of a delay as vendors introduce new technologies, Liang said in response to an analyst’s question on the earnings call. But he believes Super Micro will still be able to provide liquid cooling solutions to its partners without a major impact.

Liang later said the company expects only a small contribution from Blackwell in the December quarter before volume improves in the March quarter.

Nvidia said in a statement to MarketWatch earlier this week that “broad distribution of Blackwell samples has begun, with full production expected to begin” in the second half of the year.
