Democratic candidates are enjoying great success in state elections

Olympia—The results of the Washington state executive election are officially in. We can call some races early, while others will have to wait as votes are counted over the next few days.

Preliminary results show Democratic candidates leading in all but one of the statewide races. The Washington State Commissioner of Public Lands seat has two Republicans, former congresswomen Jaime Herrera Beutler and Sue Kuehl Pederson, ahead of his closest Democratic rival, Dave Upthegrove, by at least 0.41%. A combined 2.79 points separate the top three candidates, who are currently too close to call in this race.

Below are the results of all state elections as of August 6, 2024.

State Elections: Washington State Governor

The race for governor of Washington state is now between Democrat Bob Ferguson and Republican Dave Reichert, with 28 candidates vying to replace Jay Inslee, who announced he will not seek re-election.
