Solar panels and electric vehicles dominate Elektrotec 2024 in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, August 7 (KNN) Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia) is all set to host the seventh edition of Elektrotec, a comprehensive exhibition showcasing industrial electronics, electrical, renewable energy and electric vehicles, from August 9 to 12 in Coimbatore.

Codissia president M. Karthikeyan and event chairman P. Ponram announced at a press conference on Tuesday that 200 exhibitors from various states of India will participate in the exhibition.

This year, the focus will be on solar panels and electric vehicles. The turnover in this industry is expected to be Rs 800 crore.

In conjunction with the Codissia exhibition, FaMe TN and WRI India will launch a skill development programme for micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) on August 12.

The initiative will primarily target companies in the automotive and automotive components sectors. The program will include a pilot study of 15 industries, focusing on energy efficiency, the green economy and lean management.

Based on this study, courses will be developed and offered to SMEs over a period of two years.

Additionally, the Elektrotec trade fair will include an “Advanced workshop on clean energy.”

The inauguration ceremony, which will take place on 9 August, will be chaired by Soomilduth Bholah, Minister of Financial Services and Good Governance of Mauritius.

The event highlights the growing importance of sustainable technologies and skill development in the Indian industrial sector, especially in the areas of clean energy and e-mobility.

The exhibition, covering an area of ​​approximately 9,000 square meters, will be open to visitors from 10:00 to 17:00, with special opening hours for business guests from 10:00 to 15:00. Visitors will have the opportunity to test drive the electric vehicles on display.
