Nexperia Expands NextPower 80V and 100V MOSFET Range with New LFPAK Devices

Nexperia has expanded its operations NextPower We are expanding our 80V and 100V MOSFET offering with the introduction of new 5x6mm and 8x8mm LFPAK devices. These MOSFETs are optimized for high efficiency and low electrical noise, making them ideal for use in servers, power supplies, fast chargers, USB-PD, telecommunications, motor control, and other industrial equipment. They come in a variety of designs with on-resistance (RDSon) ranging from 1.8mΩ to 15mΩ. Traditionally, MOSFET manufacturers focus on parameters such as total gate charge (QG(tot)) and gate-drain charge (QGD) to improve switching performance. However, Nexperia has discovered that reverse recovery charge (Qrr) is just as important, as it affects electrical noise (spikes) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) generated during switching. By improving Qrr, Nexperia’s new MOSFETs produce fewer spikes and EMI, reducing the risk of having to make expensive redesigns to pass EMC testing.

The new MOSFETs also have up to 31% lower on-resistance (RDSon) than previous models. Later this year, Nexperia plans to expand its offering with the LFPAK88 MOSFET with 1.2 mΩ RDSon at 80 V and introduce the high-density CCPAK1212 model. To assist engineers in designing and testing these new devices, Nexperia offers interactive datasheets that provide detailed, easy-to-understand information on the device’s performance and behavior.
