CII Karnataka Annual Energy Transformation Conference 2024

CII Karnataka organised its annual energy transformation conference titled ‘Driving Sustainable Growth: Renewable Energy, Green Hydrogen and Electric Mobility’ in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, He said, “Providing electricity at a low rate is essential as energy demand is growing at 8-10%. India ranks 4th in the world in renewable energy installations, with over 85 GW of solar and 46 GW of wind. Achieving the milestone of 200 GW of fossil-free renewable energy and aiming for 500 GW by 2030, along with 55 GW of solar power generation capacity, underlines our commitment to a sustainable and energy-secure future.”

“Energy transformation requires a holistic approach spanning generation, transmission, storage and consumption. This transformation requires collaboration across technological innovation and digitalisation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness,” said Akilur Rahman, Coordinator, CII Karnataka Energy Transition Panel 2024-25 and Chief Technology Officer, Hitachi Energy.
