New defendant added in Houston surrogacy deposit theft lawsuit

A new defendant has been named in a surrogacy trust theft lawsuit involving Houston-based SEAM.

Late Tuesday, attorneys added a new defendant in the case named Helen Yancy. Yancy is the new owner of a piece of land that was apparently purchased with money from the families.

Attorneys argue the property transfer violated an order issued by a Harris County judge in July.

A total of 36 families are currently suing the Houston-based surrogacy trust company and its owner, Dominqiue Side. Attorneys representing the family claim Side misused millions of dollars earmarked for surrogates to fund her rap career and lavish lifestyle.
