Generac Acquires Ageto, Strengthening Microgrid and Energy Storage Solutions

Energy technology solutions provider Generac has acquired Ageto, a leading provider of microgrid controllers that integrate, optimize and manage distributed conventional resources, renewable energy sources and electric vehicle chargers for the commercial and industrial (C&I) market. The transaction closed on Aug. 1. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This acquisition enhances our ability to offer a complete ecosystem of energy technologies to multi-site commercial and industrial customers,” said Erik Wilde, president of C&I for Generac. “By integrating Ageto’s industry-leading microgrid controller and advanced software into our systems, we simplify asset integration, control and optimization for our customers and create a competitive advantage for Generac.”

Generac has been working with Ageto since 2021, implementing its microgrid controllers into Generac’s battery energy storage system (BESS) and generator solutions.

The Ageto Microgrid Controller helps users coordinate, optimize, and monitor all microgrid components from one simple interface. Combining the Ageto software solution with Generac BESS and multi-range microgrid systems provides site-level system integration and control compared to hardware alone.
