OpenAI Lets ChatGPT Users Create Two DALL-E 3 Images for Free: Here’s How It Works

OpenAI announced that it will allow users of the free version of ChatGPT to generate up to two images per day using DALL-E 3 Model. Microsoft-backed AI startup introduced the DALL-E 3 in September 2023 and was initially only available to customers who paid for it ChatGPT Plus.

Generating a DALLE-3 image for free ChatGPT: How it works

One of the key improvements of DALL-E 3 is that when users provide a smaller prompt, ChatGPT to create an image, the chatbot additionally describes the requirement with a longer prompt. This allows the DALL-E 3 to create appropriate images more easily.
To show how it works, the company also shared examples in the post:

OpenAI said the ability to create images with DALL-E 3 is “rolling out.” We at TOI Gadgets Now were able to access the feature on the Android ChatGPT app and the web client. After creating two images, the app displayed a label that read, “Image creation limit reached. Upgrade to ChatGPT Plus or try again in 24 hours.”

OpenAI’s AI-generated content detection and labeling tool

Earlier this week, the company confirmed it had created a method to identify written content by ChatGPT, aimed at curbing academic dishonesty. This involved subtly marking text generated by ChatGPT with an invisible watermark. But OpenAI is cautious about releasing the tool publicly, and has pointed to potential complications and broader implications.
“Text watermarking method “The solution we are developing is technically promising, but it comes with significant risks that we are considering as we explore alternatives, including susceptibility to bypass by malicious actors and the potential for disproportionate impact on groups such as non-English speakers,” an OpenAI spokesperson said.
