Elon Musk says “it’s war now”

Elon Musk’s X has filed a lawsuit against a number of major companies, alleging that they have conspired to boycott the social network, which has had a negative impact on its revenue. Elon Musk said he has tried to resolve the matter peacefully for two years, but “now it’s war“.

X CEO Linda Yaccarino has highlighted the negative impact of the advertising boycott on free speech. A lawsuit has been filed in Texas seeking to recover financial and operational losses suffered by X.

X filed a lawsuit against a global group of advertisers and a number of major companies, including Mars and CVS Health, with the social network accusing the companies of unlawfully conspiring to boycott X, resulting in a loss of revenue. X filed the lawsuit in a Texas federal court against the Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM), the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), Unilever, and Danish renewable energy company Orsted.

Elon Musk took over Twitter in 2022 (now called X), and the SpaceX and Tesla CEO asked boycotted brands to sue. He posted on X, saying:Anyone who has been boycotted should file a lawsuit in each country where they have been boycotted.“. Musk responded to a post on X’s Rumble video claiming he was suing Google, to which Musk responded: “We tried to be nice for 2 years and got nothing but empty words. Now it’s war“.
