Alan Wake 2 Still Not Generating Any Royalties for Remedy

Remedy Entertainment recently released its half-year report for the period from January to June 2024, showing that huge portfolio projects in development and provides details on their progress. While things look quite positive, it also indicates that Alan Wake 2 is still not generating royalties for the studio. This tidbit is surprising, explaining that the majority of the royalties came from sales of Control and Alan Wake Remastered.

The royalties mainly consisted of game sales. Control AND Alan Wake Remastered. Alan Wake 2 did not yet generate royalties. The operating loss in the second quarter was EUR 3.2 million, an improvement of EUR 1.6 million compared to the comparative period,” the earnings report reads.

Remedy also claims that Alan Wake 2 has still not recovered However, most of the money spent on development and marketing was recovered.

Remedy Entertainment is working on multiple projects

Control 2 is reportedly now playable, while the Max Payne remakes have entered the “full stage of production.“Control’s multiplayer spin-off, Project Condor, has been in full production since March of this year. The developers are now focusing on creating multiple maps and mission types as internal and limited external playtesting of the game is underway.
