Winner after two consecutive disappointing experiences

Outlaw Shark Fantastic (Smart shark) went uncaught in three consecutive Fillies and Mares Preferreds races and pulled away to win the Friday harness races at Century Downs on Friday (Aug. 9).

The mare set the pace, setting :28.1, :58 and 1:25.4 panels from the front. If Only Id Known (Phil Giesbrecht), who had caught the leader at the finish in their last race together, came at her from third on the opposite straight. The challenger held her position on the final bend, but Outlaw Sharktastic shot ahead by two and a quarter lengths to win in 1:54.2. If Only Id Known finished second, with Daisy Corvette (Logan Gillis) finishing the race.
