Khammam Technician Caught Obtaining Drugs Through Dark Web

A software engineer from Khammam was nabbed by the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB) for placing an order for drugs through the dark web. Officials said the technician received a parcel sent from Silpukhuri in Assam through Speed Post and was paid in cryptocurrency.

The breakthrough came after TGANB’s Technical Wing tracked online activity related to the sale of drugs. “This led us to a software engineer in Khammam city who placed an order for heroin on the dark web and paid in cryptocurrency on July 31,” said the bureau’s director, Sandeep Shandilya.

With the help of Khammam II Municipal Police, TGANB detectives detained the consumer while he was receiving the parcel at his home on August 8. “The drugs were hidden under brown tape inside the newspaper,” the officer added.

The detectives from the office treated the detainee with empathy, taking into account his future career prospects. They counseled him and his parents, offering ongoing support to help him overcome his addiction.
