Japanese company Itochu to increase US solar power capacity by 150%

TOKYO — Japanese investment firm Itochu will spend an additional 1.2 trillion yen ($8.18 billion) to boost the solar and other renewable energy capacity it is developing in the U.S. by 150% around 2030 to about 10,000 megawatts.

Itochu is currently involved in the development of 27 solar farms in the US, with more to come. It will also consider building wind farms.
