Eva Longoria joins Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney at Wrexham FC

Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria has become the latest Hollywood star to visit Wrexham Racecourse.

The actress was spotted at the team’s opening match in their return to League One For for the first time in 19 years – and won 3-2 against Wycombe.

Also cheering on the players on Saturday were the club’s well-known co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The trio are reportedly working on a docuseries for FX and Disney+ Latin America about Club Necaxa, the Mexican soccer team owned by Longoria along with co-owners McElhenney and Reynolds.

It will follow the club in a similar style to the popular Welcome to Wrexham programme.

AND video, posted on Xpreviously called Twitter, showed Longoria celebrating the victory in the presidential box at the stadium alongside Reynolds and McElhenney.

Longoria follows a group of famous friends of the co-owners as they embark on a journey to North Wales, including Paul Rudd, Hugh Jackman AND Will Ferrell.

The star duo took over the club in 2021, investing millions of pounds in it and ensuring its success two more promotions.

After Saturday’s game, forward Stephen Fletcher said it was “always nice” to see the Deadpool and Always Sunny in Philadelphia stars in the stands.

“It’s all very encouraging when they’re there, they bring a certain presence when they come into the dressing room… there’s no pressure, it doesn’t surprise anyone, they’re just one of the lads, with their own way of being, which is good,” he said.

McElhenney admitted he was hopeful Wrexham would win promotion for a third successive season.

In response to seeing Longoria, season ticket holder Sarah Howell called it “crazy.”

“Just when you think you’ve got used to it, someone else comes along and surprises you,” she said.

“My season ticket is right under the executive box, so I tend to look around carefully before a match, quickly spotting new guests. It’s all good publicity for the city, but mainly for the club.”
